Vampires and Werewolves 4

Chapter 4
Leon walked down the streets of Dalton, the sun was bright and just above his head, making shade hard to find. Leon watched how the Lycans lived in this town, all the houses had the Lord Lycan pentagram tattoo displayed somewhere in the front. All people in the town walked in groups, talking loudly and changing into Lycan forms. Leon wondered why there was almost no shade in the town, but then realized it; Vampires. This way if a vampire were to come to the town, they would have nowhere to go. There were few stores, mostly food markets and bars, Leon thought about food and money.

What do vampires eat? He thought entering the store and looking around, the store was lined with shelves and cases of meat. As if it were the only thing you could eat, meat was everywhere and in every form. He left the store, frustrated thinking about the future, Where was Dawn going to take him? What would the other Vampires do? Moreso, he thought about hybrids, the mythical being half Vampire half Werewolf, He walked into a nearby bar to get something to drink, then checked the limits of the town; Dalton was small, with a lake to the west and a forest to the east. The sun slowly set by the time he headed back to the motel, he thought of the ways to get out of the town. He and Dawn would have to get a new car, transfer all the weapons into the new car, get to the other side of town and—his thoughts were cut off by the sight of three Lycan on the roof of a motel. Loud gunshots shattered the windows and blew holes in the roof, causing the werewolf’s to jump back.

The Lycan forced entrance into the motel, making the gunshots louder and faster. Leon quickly changed into his Lycan form, and dashed into the motel room. Dawn stood over a Lycan, her gun a foot away from its head, she shot at it nonstop, splattering the blood and brains onto the floor. She quickly turned and shot at a Lycan rushing toward her, she immediately stopped shooting at the Lycan on the floor and faced the one charging at her. It slammed into her and pinned her to the wall, she put her hand on its neck and pushed it away from her, shooting it with the other. Leon knocked the Lycan of off Dawn and killed. He attacked the other Lycans, spilling blood all throughout the motel suite. Dawn shot at the Lycan, killing them one by one, then turned and spoke to Leon.

“Get out and into the car, we have to get out of here.” She said and Leon turned into human form, he took out the special bullets Dawn had given him and shot a few rounds. “Leon, we have to go!” she yelled at him, the both of them, leapt out of the window, breaking the glass and landing on their feet. Leon got into the car first and starting it just as Dawn sat down in the passenger seat. Leon stepped on the gas and drove as fast as possible, he looked into the mirror to see that the Lycan weren’t following them. Soon, they were in the forest on the east side of the town.

“Look at that! You made me shoot you!” she said angrily, looking at his shoulder. “Let me see.” She said moving aside his jacket. “Damnit, you got in the way, thank the Heavens I wasn’t using the ultraviolet silver, you could have been killed.” She complained working off his jacket, the sleeve had a rip through it and the edges were covered in blood. “This will hurt, hold still.”

Dawn used two fingers to dig into his wound find the bullet and pulled it out, all within seconds. She could hear Leon roar angrily and his hand shot up to grab her hand, Dawn jumped slightly and showed him the bullet. “I got it out.” she smiled, letting it fall into his hand.

“Thanks.” He said letting go of her hand, “By the way, those Lycan had some bullets of their own.” He said, putting on his jacket and taking out a pack of bright yellow bullets. Dawn took the pack snd removed one of the bullets, she held it up in fornt of her eyes, staring into the yellow liquid.

“These must be the bullets Kane had told me about before, he warned me that the Lycan actually found ways of harvesting the ultraviolet rays from sunlight and form it into a liquid.” She said, placing her hand under the bullet shell, “It inserts sunlight particles into the vampire bloodstream like our bullets insert silver into theirs.” She was about to pour the liquid into her hand then Leon reached over and took it away, he threw all of the bullets out the window.

Dawn looked at Leon puzzled as if asking for a reason for his actions, “We don’t need those bullets.” He said starting the car, he looked at her and smiled, she smiled back when she realized what he wanted, he didn’t know where to drive.

“Were heading east along the forest, this should take up most of the day, just keep heading forward and don’t crash the car. We're gonna go to an old friend of mine, she can help get a new car and I’ll need a chance to—“ she stopped herself in the sentence and Leon could see her run her tongue along her teeth.

“Drink?” he asked.

“Yeah.” She said glaring at him, “Its not what you think, Leon. Its not like a pick a random human and bite their necks, we found a way to clone human blood. We don’t need a human to have blood, but if I don’t feed for a long time then its… uncontrollable.” She said, “Lets go.”
